It’s finally official! We’re leaving on Saturday morning. Everything seems a little surreal, I guess, but I’m deeply anticipating life in Korea (and delicious Korean food~) and meeting a lot of beautiful people.
I don’t really get homesick, though I’ve never been away from home for 13 months, so perhaps this will be a little different. I will, of course, miss the illuminating presence of all the dear people I’m leaving behind.
But even underneath this feeling of surreality, I’m reminded of deep everlasting truths: that neither the home I’m leaving nor the new home to which I’m traveling are my true home. Our true home, our final home, is in the kingdom of God, which is both now and yet to come. And that is what we must work toward.
